Do you LOVE Halloween??? How about some Halloween decorating??!!!!

This was last year's post for Halloween, I will be doing another post for this year's decorating but since the decorations don't go out at my sister's house until Halloween day, I will have to share AFTER Halloween!!!  Enjoy last year's decorating and check out the next Halloween decorating post for NEW decorations this year!!!  Think Headless Horseman!!!!!!
And most of all, Happy and Safe Halloween to ALL!!!!!
I will start this post by saying This IS NOT MY HOUSE!!!!  This is my sister's house.  I have her permission to do a blog post about her Halloween decorating!   I live out in the country so for Halloween, we always go to her house/neighborhood for Trick or Treating.  My sister, Sharon, goes all out for Halloween.  I believe it is her favorite holiday!! Okay, I don't believe, I KNOW it is her favorite holiday.  She's freak!!!  LOL!!  I tease her and give her a bunch of grief for all her Halloween purchases.  I gigle when she tells me she goes to a Halloween forums for ideas and deals....heehee.....BUT....her house was the best looking in the neighborhood!!!  I took a bunch  of pictures....and I mean a LOT of pictures to show all her hard work.  Most of the outside stuff is put up ON Halloween and taken down that night!!! It is tons of work for her but she loves it.  I am not sure her husband loves it, but he is suckered into helping!!!  Gotta love it!!!
I'll start with the inside and then show the outside of her house:
This is her fireplace.  She made the picture in the middle with her cricut, burlap,  and a Ikea picture frame!  Brilliant!!!
I love the little details, even the spider crawling on the CREEPY sign.
Skulls in  jar, mice, spiders.....all scream Halloween!!!
I wish I knew where she got this guy because he is AWESOME!  I love the litle spider on him too!
She has a slight rodent problem!  Love the little mouse guy!!!

These guys sit in her kitchen window.
I love these little guys!!!!
She has little touches of Halloween sprinkled throughout her house.  I love the skull!

Even the candles have a little Halloween touch!!!  Yikes get a BIG shoe to get that spider!!!!
This was one of my favorite spots.  So simple and pretty!
One of her cross stitch boards with her seasonal Halloween frames on them.  I love this set!  We both cross stitch and love doing these little projects for our cross stitch boards.
This is my brother-in-law's Halloween hat.  I borrowed it for a sec!  SSSSHHH!!!!
This is her dough bowl.  Pumpkins, gordes, skulls and acorns all fill her bowl.  She loves her dough bowl.  It is a big joke in her house that if there is a fire, grab the dough bowl on the way out of the house.  This is one of two she has....maybe three??  I think this is the smaller of the two.  The larger one could be a boat for her 6 year old!!!  LOL!!!  Very pretty though!
This is her wreath that hangs in her kitchen.  It is so pretty!  This pictures doesn't show it as good as it looks in person, it is BIG!  She changes this out seasonally.

Okay, now we head outside.  There were details everywhere I looked!

One of the kids counted 16 spiders outside!! YIKES!  This one, forget the shoe!  Get the car!!!!
The skull lights looked great lite up at night!  But the spiders give me the chills!!!!
The mummies hang out inside until October 31st, and then they get to come outside to the party!
Making new friends! He was a little quiet but that's okay!
I wanted a kiss but he wasn't going for it!
Another one of her spiders.....ugh, I really need to talk to her about these!!  Especially since it is looking down on me!!!
The kids were getting their costumes on, so I had to get my hat on!
In helping put out some last minute decorations, I found this sweet bird's nest.  How pretty!  Or was it another prop??? hmmmm.....
Nothing says scary like some pumpkins, skulls, snake and a mouse!!!  These fuzzy mice freak me out!!!!
Two of my little pumpkins!  Jesse the puppy and Owen the army ranger.

My oldest, Kyle.  He went as a hunter.  Not a far stretch for him but I am just glad he still wants to hang with us.  I am sure it is coming, he will be to cool to hang with his brothers and I for Halloween!  But for now, I was thrilled.  And yes, my 12 year old is officially taller than me!!!!
I love this mask!!!
These  guys were super creepy hanging in the trees!
I loved the mice, or rats!!!  They looked so real.  My youngest liked them, he kept carrying them around.  Guess he didn't find rats creepy!  LOL!!!
This guy was scary!!!!
Okay, for the last pictures: our Trick or Treating gang....doing some Gangnam Style!!!
Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!  Sharon: I will officially say you did a good job!  Now don't ask me to repeat that!!!  LOL!  And I believe she won't be reading this until later, since she is day after Halloween bargain shopping for next year!!!!!

WACKY CRAZY OUT OF MY MIND WEDNESDAY!!!! A Card that Goes Wrong!!!!!

Today is WACKY CRAZY- OUT OF MY MIND WEDNESDAY!!!!  And now you are wondering what the heck is that???!!!!  Some of you are going to think, I have lost my mind!Today I am sharing, A CARD GONE WRONG!!!!
At first look, this is a Christmas card.  Some may like it, some may not.  I am in the last category.  Yes, it happens to us all!!!  We plan out a card in our mind, but it just doesn't come together right.  There is something off with it!  Today, I am sharing one of MY cards, that is OFF.  So the question comes up to WHY would I do this?  Simply, there are many first time crafters that read my blog and many people that love to CASE designs.  We all make duds....we can all make great projects too!  It's paper!!!  And I never try to take myself to seriously!!!!  So here is my card boo-boo!!!!  :)
This is a shaker card.  I have done several of these would think that I would have it down pat, right???  This shaker is using the Wonderful Blessings Stamp set .  I love this stamp set.  It is a great image.  I had a great plan in my head.  I wanted to make a shaker with this great image behind it.  Overall, the image is fine.  But the shaker part went all wrong!  The washi tape that I used is to wide for the card, it actually didn't fit the shaker part well, and I ended up with a gap, which made my shaker parts STICK to the washi tape at the it kinda shakes......AFTER you jump up and down with it in your hand!!!!!

See my star punch outs?  Yeah, they are hard to see because they are sticking to my WASHI tape!!!  UGH!!!!

There one of my stars.....stuck!!!!
I don't like how the washi tape is covering my image here.  I think the pattern on the washi tape is wrong also.  It is to bold for this card.  This is a great nativity scene, and this washi is smothering it!!!  I do like the bling I used inside...but those are the only pieces that are moving stars are duds!!!

Okay, now I can tear apart my ribbon choice here.  This was an idea gone wrong.  I had an idea to curl this ribbon.  It is thin and it does curl and I actually like the curled frayed look but it just looks like a pile of.......I'm not sure....but it doesn't look good!!!!  It's not a bow....maybe I should have tied it INTO a bow and then left long pieces and tried to curl and fray them???  It just doesn't work.  I actually think the bow is to small against the thick washi tape too.
Overall, this card was a dud for me.  It happens.  An idea sounds good in my head, but doesn't work out when I actually put it to paper!!!  I may end up tearing this card apart...Or I may try and salvage what works with this card.  I think the best part is the stamped embossed image.  Maybe I will take that idea and try it again!  Take 2!!!!!
What do you take away from this?  Other than I am a little off my rocker!!!??  LOL!!!  Everyone messes up.  Everyone can make a bad card.  But with that, everyone can make a good card.  I didn't start out making cards.  I was a scrapbooker and still am.  I used to find cards harder to work on, it was a smaller canvass to work with.  Some times ideas work, and some times they don't.  But don't give up!!!  Evaluate your creation, what would you do differently?  Different color combo?  Different image?  Try it with the changes!!!  Don't give up!!!  Don't get discouraged!  Sometimes, walking away from a project, and coming back to it later with fresh eyes is all it takes to go from dud to FAB!!!!!
But most of all- have fun crafters!  And never take it to seriously!!!  After all, crafting is fun!  Crafting is relaxing!  And it is just paper and ink!!!!  Just give it another shot!!!!

Snowflake File Folder Card using the Envelope Punch Board and Clear Embossing Powder

Back to my obsession with file folder cards!!!  I used the Envelope Punch Board to make this file folder card.  I have done a tutorial on this before- just search in the box to the right hand side!!  I love these file folder cards.  I got a question one time- What exactly is a file folder card?  It is simply an A2 sized card that looks like a mini file folder.  This one has both tabs up top which is a different take on it....not sure if I like it like that but tried something different.

This is the inside of the card with my sentiment.  Since I stamped it in dark ink, it still shows up on a patterned background paper.
On the front of the card, I created my own background paper using the Festive Flurry stamp set and clear embossing powder.  I stamped the snowflake in versamark ink and covered with clear embossing powder, tapped  off the excess powder and used my heat gun to set.  The smaller snow flakes were embossed using the Pool Party embossing powder.  Don't have a piece of Designer Series Paper that you want to use....create your own background!!!

What a fun unusual Christmas card!  Thanks for stopping by!
