Using Those Scraps! Valentine's cards! Yes, already!!!!!

I am on the ball!!!!!  Okay, this is a BIG brag because normally, I am not!!!!  I made some cards the other day and ended up with scraps, we all do, right?  I kept looking at those pieces of crumb cake cardstock.  What could I use them for???  I really hate to throw away scraps especially of my favorite color of cardstock: Crumb Cake  .  They were an odd size so even for 3X3 cards, my scraps wouldn't work.  Then a thought popped in my head..(it happens every now and again :) )  Valentine's cards!!! I love making homemade Valentine's for the boys to take to school.  My oldest is beyond this now, but it is fun for the two youngest yet!

Here is what I came up with.  Since I have boys, I always try to make them not so girly.  Last year my homemade Valentines were:

This year I wanted to use another boy stamp set and the new You're My Hero Set .  My scraps were perfect for this project since the Valentines don't have to be a certain size!

This is the inside of the card.  I used the Tags for You set (#131823) available from the Holiday catalog on August 1st with the making Bracket punch on the inside of the card.  I will add some slits in the fold of the card to add a sucker to each card.  The back of the card will say From and my child's name.  EASY!!!  I only made 10 of these since that was all the scraps I had at this time.    Maybe I will make a new design for the rest, maybe keep this same design.  Who knows!!!  But I am making this year's Valentine's out of SCRAPS ONLY!!!!!  Stay tuned!!!

Thanks for stopping by- I appreciate all those that visit!!!

Christmas Gift Cards- Sneak Peek Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog

I made some quick fun little Christmas cards.  These are great to stick in a gift bag.  I love this size of cards.  I made my cards 3X3 but if you have scraps that are smaller, you could use those to make little gift cards especially if you don't want them in an envie.  You can slip these into the gift bag or hole punch them in the corner and tie with a ribbon to your package.  I used some new stamp sets from the Stampin' Up catalog.  These will be available at my shop on August 1st:

This was one of the first sets I placed on my order.  I have done another card with a deer head on it:
Deer heads are all the rage right now in decorating.  This set, Very Merry Tags (#130402) has a bunch of different tags in it, but it was the deer head stamp that I just had to have!!!  I also used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set on this card.  I am wearing out this stamp set.  Perfect ink splatters every time!!  This is a great set for those that like the splattered look but never get the right results when misting.

This card uses the new chevron punch.  I love chevrons!!!  (Chevron Border Punch #132154).  I used the Tags for You stamp set (#131823) and punched it out using the new Label Bracket Punch (#132153).  These can also be ordered together as a bundle to save you 15%- #133294.  There are four tags in the stamp set.  My colors for these cards were Crumb Cake, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler.  I always find these to be great classic holiday colors for me.

This card uses the Very Merry Tag set again for the Naughty or Nice tag.  I LOVE this one!  I used an accent from the A Banner Christmas set (#130255).  A Banner Christmas is a great set for accents to build on.  I plan on using for my Christmas cards this year.

This card using the Tags for you set again and the Label Bracket punch.  I also used some of the Cherry Cobbler Coredinations paper, embossing it and then sanding it to show the lighter color.  I love coredinations paper and was thrilled to see it offered in every color family now!

For the last card, I used a set out of the main catalog, Tag It set  and the Chalk Talk Framelits

This is the set of cards all together.

These next photos, I wanted to include them on this blog post.  I get card ideas pop in my head, and some work and some don't.  Here is an example of something that kinda works, but not thought out well........

The card on the left is the card I used.  What is wrong with the card on the right???
I kept the same colors throughout my cards.  But here is an example of how color placement is important!!!!  Unless the person getting this card is a hunter, the Cherry Cobbler makes nice blood looking splats!!!  Probably not the Christmas Merry Message I want to send!!!!  LOL!!!

We all make mistakes, and I didn't even notice this until I put the card up to take the picture of it for the blog post.  UGH!! Back to the crafting table I went to switch my colors around!  Now if I can figure out how to make a Zombie card for my Walking Dead fans using the ink splats as blood splats....those fans would LOVE it!!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Life- Project Life- Project 365- Part 6

As my title indicates...call it what you like!!!  I am naming mine Project Summer Life!!!  Here is part six!!  This has been such a great way for me to document our summer.  I have scrapped the everyday photos that would normally get missed!  That is the best part, the everyday photos that I know as the boys get older, will be more and more precious.
The hardest part about blogging mine Project Summer Life, is getting good pictures through the page protector.  I normally take my 12X12 layouts out of the page protectors to photograph them.  You can't really do that with the separated pockets. Sorry about any glare, I try very hard to eliminate it.

I used the new DSP paper pack Gingham Garden.  This paper pack reminded me of a picnic which was perfect for the pictures of a simple Out to Lunch day.  I love gingham!  Don't forget Stampin' Up has the buy 3 get one DSP packs for free going on now:DSP Special Offer .
I was able to use some left over stickers from a Basic Grey pack. Using up what I have is a great part of this project.  You can piece together your embellies.

The ants were my favorite!  What picnic is complete without an ant!!!??

This is the perfect example of what I miss when I don't document those everyday moments!

I used my new camera stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn.  I loved the chicken journaling card, so I had to add it in....jut because!

I loved this picture of Jesse.  So happy playing with his truck waiting on his lunch.  I love how his head is tilted to get the best angle to see his "load" on the lowboy.  Wonder where he gets that from???
Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!!

Hautelook Summer Essentials Bag Review

This is my first Huatelook bag.  They offer these sample bags every so often.  For $20 plus shipping.
First off the bag is cute!  I was disappointed to find out the polka dots are an insert so the bag is clear.  Clear is good too but I liked the polka dots.  Nice good size bag!
It was packed full of goodies!!!

First up, Miracle 10 AHA Cream.  It is cream so I will use it, it is supposed to exfoliate as well.  I have liked other Miracle 10 products so I am hopeful for this one too!

Now this is the silliest thing: my FAVORITE item!!!!  Yes, my favorite item in the whole bag is a  Grab N Go Pony Compact.  I love this!!!!  How smart!!!  It is silly because it is so simple but what a GREAT idea!!!  I can't tell you how many hair ties I have floating around in my handbag right now!!  No more!!  This was filled with a couple of my favorite twist ties and went straight into my bag!!!

next up is L'Occitane Shea Hand Cream.  This will come in handy during the winter months!  I have loved all my L'Occitane items before so I am sure I will love this as well!

Forgive the HORRIBLE picture, but my iphone was not focusing on it, something with the shiney writing was throwing it off.  It is a 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil from Urban Decay.  The color is nice and I will wear by with some gloss!

Next up is the Diptque Fragrance.  It says that it is for men and woman??  I am confused.  I don't want to smell like a man so I might need to try this one out at home first before wearing it in public.  Also what struck me was look how big the box was for such a little sample.  Apparently not an earth conscious company!!  SMH!!

My second favorite is the NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick.  The color is GREAT.  I think it is the perfect summer color, but I do wear this type of shade all year long.  I even wore it this morning!!!

The next item is Whish Body Butter.  I am sure to love this.  I got their shaving cream a while back in another bag subscription....it smells WONDERFUL!!!!  Since I am all about the scent, I am sure this will be a hit with me as well.  It's Orange Cream!!

This is the weirdest item I got.  It is a Nano-peptide natural Eyelash Conditioner from Lashfood.  First off, I didn't even know that I needed to condition my lashes. And I don't know what a nano-peptide is...but apparently, my lashes crave it!!   I'll give it a shot!!!
The crown brush set was next.  Right before I got married, I bought some Channel makeup brushes.  Those two brushes have lasted me 16 plus years!  I have added to my brushes, gotten some different angled ones over the years.  I am sure to use these brushes.  If nothing else, they go really good in my travel bag!!
I am excited to try the Lorac Special Effects Mascara in black.....that is what the sheet says, in black.  I am not sure there should be any other color of mascara.  Black, that's it!!!  LOL!!  I have wanted to try a mascara like this out for awhile now so this is a great item for me!
The Blow Pro hairspray was next.  I like the size because it does travel well.  I don't use a ton of hairspray so this will last me a long time.  I have never used this brand so we will see what I think!  If it helps with the humidity and frizz which is what the card says it does, I may be a fan.  But let's face it, in the south, it is hard to help with the humidity!

The next item is a Tan Towel.  I am not a fan of tanning and I am not really a fan of self tanners either.  I would NEVER use self tanners on my face, I think it makes your face look dirty!!!  Ask me how I know this!!!

The last item is the Mirenesse Lip Bomb.  I am loving that I got a sparkle color.  My friend got a NEON color that I would NEVER use!!!!!  This I will use!
Overall, this bag was a hit for me, I will order next time! You can find more info out at www.hautelook.com
Thanks for stopping by!!

Stampin' Up sneak peek holiday catalog card- Remembering Christmas

Time for another sneak peek from the up coming Holiday catalog.  The Holiday catalog will be live August 1st.  All items will be available at my store:

This card uses the Remembering Christmas stamp set (#131763).  This was one of the stamp sets I just had to have.

Deer heads are on trend right now in decorating.  Even if you are not a hunter!!!

This is an orange deer head in my son's room. It goes with his Pottery Barn camo quilt on his bed.  The quilt is shades of blues.  I love that his room had his flare to it but doesn't look like camo puked in it!

Of course, as a hunter, this is my son's other deer head, his first doe. He has his big buck still being mounted.....oh joy.   I'm not crazy about the real ones, but it is his hobby and he loves it!

This one I would put in the main part of the house (Kyle's deer heads have to stay in HIS room).  How great is this one???  I LOVE the sweater over the deer head!!! My sister found this one online, but it is PRICEY!!!   Deer heads are just so popular right now!

With this card, I got to play with a lot of fun layers.  I had found some flakes glitter at AC Moores for $1.00.  I had no idea what to use it when I bought it but at $1, how could I go wrong?  When I got out my stamp set, the flakey glitter popped in my head, it reminded me of the sweater deer head, warm and fuzzy.  I had to add it to this card!  I used heat & stick powder to get the flakey glitter to stick to the edges of my layer.

I stamped the deer head in versamark ink and then embossed with white embossing powder on vellum.  This is the first time I have used vellum on a card, but I have to say, I love the look and will use it again soon!!!

This picture shows the new frosted finishes embellishment that will be in the new catalog (#132150).  These are GREAT bling!!!  So pretty!  I love that you can see the chevron ribbon peeking through the velum.

I used the apothocary accents framelits to cut out the deer head.

I used the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack (#132183) to make this card.  It was hard to decide what paper in the stack to use because they all have such great shades of blues.  So pretty!!

The inside of the card.  I used another stamp in the Remembering Christmas stamp set.
I had to show the back of my card.  I have a bunch of customize stamps.  I love them!!  I think with the deer head on the front, I had to use the deer name stamp that I had!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  If you don't FOLLOW ME, take a second and do!!!!  I love new crafting friends!!

Stampin' Up Bow Die- Sneak Peek!!!

I recently did a post about the new bow die from Stampin' Up.  It comes out in the Holiday catalog, which goes live on August 1st.  See the blog post here:

I really LOVE the bow die.  I think it makes GREAT bows, fast and easy!  I wanted to make a card with the bow die.  I used the smaller sized bow (it makes two sizes).
I included the "tails" of the bow on this card which does make it a little wider than my standard A2 card.  You can leave them off, or tip the tails downward instead of making a "bowtie" bow.  I will simply use a larger envie if I mail this card.

For a card, I folded the bow slightly so it can fit in an envie.
This card is filled with sneak peeks!!!  I used the new Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack (#132183).  I also used the new Frosted Finishes Embellishments (#132150) which are the beautiful rhinestone snowflake in the middle of the bow.  I also used the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#132174) to emboss the white vellum sheet.  I also used the new A Banner Christmas (#130255) stamp set on this card for the JOY.  I found the washi tape at AC Moores.

I loved the washi tape as soon as I saw it, I thought of making a card with it.  Since the new Holiday catalog has some great new snowflakes and matching framelits, this washi tape stood out to me.
I really like the stamp set I used.  It is a great accent set!

I also used an image from the stamp set for the inside.  I used a piece of Pool Party cardstock on the inside.  Since it was a white card, I wanted to make the inside different, Pool Party is still light enough to write on.  Pool Party is one of the colors in the DSP pack as well.  The Winter Frost DSP has some great shades of blues!!
I always stamp my name on the back of the cards I make.  I have a couple of cute custom stamps.  I am always looking to add more to my collection!

Colors Used:  Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, and Whispering White.
You can see that the bow can be creased to fit into envelopes.
I want to use the bow die on a scrapbook page and also I still want to decorate a box with it as well.  Look for those projects soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

You will be able to find all these items at my store on August 1st:
