When you need that "special" card.....

Today I am sharing a card that I made for my son.  A store bought card WOULD NOT do!!!!  Hallmark doesn't make all the cards you will need.   Of course, I HAD to make it myself!

From the outside, this seems like an odd "I'm sorry" card.  It will all make sense AFTER you see the inside!!!
I dug out some of my retired Stampin' Up stamps.  I never get rid of any stamp sets with cars, trucks, tractors, or anything of the sort because with three boys....I always find a use for them!  This is an adorable set!  The car was PERFECT for this card! I fussy cut the car.

In this picture you can see that I embossed a piece of cardstock with my tire tracks wheel stamp.  I ended up not using it in my design but you can see it works really good with this stamp set!
I created this card for for challenges.  The first challenge is at:http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2013/05/week-121-recipe.html
This week's theme was HUMOR.  Once you see the inside of the card....humor was the only was to go!

Here is the insert to the inside of the card!  Yes, we needed a "I'm sorry" card because one of my boys went on a school Camp trip last week.  Great trip for all the kids.  BUT....  on the way back from camp, apparently he got car sick...and well........puked in the back of one of his friend's cars......five times!!!!!!!!  Seriously.  As a mother....I am HORRIFIED!!! So hence, I think humor was the only way to go with this card!!!  We are also sticking an Autobell Car Wash gift card inside for the dad!
I got to use my new photopolymer stamps from Stampin' Up.  I really like them.  The other two releases will be on my next order!  GREAT quality!!!
I used the colors from http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/

I really liked this color combo.  For my card, I used Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, and Gumball Green, all Stampin' Up colors for cardstock and inks.

For the sketch of the card, I used:  http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/

I really liked the sketch.  I liked the clean lines and the two "spots" that I could add some background to my car.  My main theme of the card was a car, so I wanted to show that first and foremost.  I think the sketch worked nicely for it.
I was also able to use the challenge at:http://drunkenstampers.wordpress.com/2013/05/25/drunken-stampers-challenge-129-the-hangover/

I loved this challenge as well.  First of all, who doesn't like The Hangover movies???  And this card fit it so well, since it was from a road trip and puking involved!!!  See, perfect fit!!!

I used my banners framelits set.  I have used these framelits so many times.

I was able to use my soda tops from the Spring Stampin' Up catalog.  These are the mini ones.  I love this and was very sad not to see them make a return in the catalog.  If you are wanting some of these, make sure to visit my online store: www.michellemcgraw.stampinup.net to order them soon, they will be gone June 1st!  I flattened these in my Big Shot....sssssoooo much fun!!
This picture makes the top button look purple....it isn't, it is navy but the lighting made it look weird.  I even had to go back to my card to double check!

Hope you enjoyed the card, and more importantly.....I really hope the parents' enjoy the gift card for a car cleaning!  Thanks for stopping by!

Triple Time Stamping with the Bootiful Occasions Stamp Set

This is a card I did a while ago but I wanted to share it.  One, I love Triple Time Stamping.....not sure if that is the "official name" but that is the name I call it!!!  Two: I was thrilled to see this stamp set return in the new catalog!  It is a great set and a lot of fun! To see the stamp set click:
It is not something I do often but I love tone on tone stamping.

I will say that I modified this stamp to meet my needs.  What does that mean???  I changed it!!  Somewhat.  The sentiments are attached to each "boot" in the set.  Sometimes I want the sentiments, sometimes I don't.  My solution: to cut the sentiments off each boot- I make a straight as possible cut with my paper snips.  In doing so, I can line them back up together when I want the sentiments, or keep them apart.  OR  use the sentiments as separate stamps!  This solution works for me.  It is simple- I still have the original stamps.  Perfect.  If you find a stamp that doesn't quite work for you....consider changing it!!!
As the week is winding down, I am looking to a quieter weekend.  No soccer games this weekend.  I am hoping to get some crafting done on Saturday but I really need to trim the dog.  Hmmmmm.....maybe it will rain and I will HAVE to craft!!!  LOL!!!

My Paper Pumpkin ROCKS!!

For all those that don't know what My Paper Pumpkin is.....let me explain.  It is a monthly subscription box from Stampin' Up.  It has everything you need in it to create your project for the month. Each month is different.  ($19.95/month)- Check out the website for more information: https://mypaperpumpkin.com/en/  there is a FAQ tab or feel free to ask me any questions you like, I would be happy to help. - if you do sign up, please put me as your demonstrator- Michelle McGraw, Concord, NC.
We have gotten three kits so far, and I think the kits are WONDERFUL!!!!!  The first kit was a card set, nice.  The second set was a card set with some awesome stamps that were right up my alley!  This month's set........a mini album!!!!  LOVE it!!!!
Here is how the box is shipped to you.  Nice and bright orange....it lit up inside my mailbox!!!!  SCREAMED FUN is HERE!!!!!  :)

The great thing about the kits is that is has everything you need to create!  Keep in mind, you also get the stamps which will work for other projects too!  AND a stampin' spot. I love these little ink pads.  Before I bought all the ink pads in full size, I had the ink spot sets.  You can use these the same way you use a full pad.  Best of all, they are small and take up hardly any room.  I can grab my spots for crops since they are handy!

The two stamps this month are "The Good Life" and an arrow with the words "Love this".  GREAT stamps for scrapbookers!!!!

Each month's kit comes with your instruction sheet with a color photograph of the project.  How cute is this book????

This is the full kit laid out.  Lots of papers, lots of sticker sheets. Love it!!!

Now here is where I got a little photo happy.  BUT.....I wanted to show all the sides to the papers.

This shows the sticker sheets- there are two of each included.  Leftovers!!!

I love getting My Paper Pumpkin each month.  I will be using this book for either my son's graduation next week OR his camp trip with his school.  I will be sure come back and post my finished project.

Teacher cards- new Stampin' Up In colors- sneak peek!

First off, it is so nice to have a little time to blog!!!  Spring is a hard time in our household but everything should be settling down in about two more weeks.  I wanted to share today a sneak peek from the New Stampin' Up catalog.  It will be available online starting May 30th, I believe.  You can click my online store and it will be there then!  I am loving this catalog.....my wish list is BIG!!!!  This is from my preorder.  I normally don't do flowers to much but this set has a matching embossing folder that I had to order as well!!!
The embossing folder is called Wildflower Meadow #129376.   It coordinates with Wildflower Meadow  #129168stamp.

Sorry about the lighting on these- I forgot to take pictures of the cards until the kids were leaving for school .....so it was dark out and of course any sunlight that was up....well it was raining that day.  I used the new In colors for this card.  I really like these colors.  The 2013-2015 In Colors are: Baked Brown Sugar (I am really liking this one- I can see me using as I do Crumb Cake!  Deeper cardboard box color than Crumb Cake), Strawberry Slush (a good pink color), Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana.  I am normally a deeper darker colors person but this set is pushing me to use colors I don't normally and I am loving it!!!! They scream summer and fun to me!

I think this is the best picture to show the colors best.

One of my favorite stamps is Feels Good.  I loved this set in the Spring mini catalog and was thrilled to see it show up in the new catalog!!!  It has some great sentiments in it!

The new catalog has some great new items in there......what else can I share??  One of my favorites......clay and clay molds!!!!!!  I will be posting some of my creations with them soon!  Coloring the white clay ANY color!!!  You can use reinkers, markers, aqua painter, misters, embossing powder!!!  I am really excited about those!  My other BIG excitement is about Core'dinations paper.....IN EVERY COLOR!!!!!!!

Happy Crafting to all!!!
Michelle!!!
