My first birchbox

I received my fist birchbox last week.  I was sick so I haven't been able to post about it.  It actually worked out great since I have been using the products in my box and can give an even better review!!!
If you don't know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box.  It comes with a variety of samples (some full size!!!) products to try each month.  Since this is my first box, I can't really comment on whether this is a good box from last month or not but I will say, I am enjoying it a lot!!!
If you would like to sign up to receive the monthly box, click the link:  BIRCHBOX .
They do have a waiting list but I signed up and got accepted within a week!

This is how the box comes in the mail. I like the bright pink color!

You open the mailing package to your actual monthly box.  I love this since I can very easily repurpose this box!  I will cover up the front with a little designer series paper and have a cute box!!!

Apparently each box has a card enclosed inside.  This is the front of the card.

The back of the card actually tells you the products and how much a full size version of the product will run you if you want to buy the full size.  I will say that I have already found a full size version that I am buying!!!  LOVING this product!!!

This is how the inside looks.  I love the kraft envelope- I will be reusing it as well!!!  I did not take a picture of the nail file but you see it in this picture.  Already in my purse!!!  The front side of it is a nice pretty pattern.

Nice spray sample of Couture LaLa perfume.  I haven't worn this one yet but it smells pretty good.  The Benefit "sample" turned out to just be a card explaining the product.  Okay...odd to me.  I thought they would have put a little bit of the product in there- unless I missed it- it was just information.

This is a nice sample size of the Skin & Co Sicilian Body Gel.  It smells nice.  I have used it once so far. As far as body washes go, this one is just okay.  I am not going to give up my soap bar like the sheet said!!  It does have kinda a soapy lather so I am going to try it as bath gel.  I might like it better just to add fragrance to the tub.

This is the BB Golden Glow Creme.  I have to say, I am LOVING this cream!!!  It does so much! You can see that the product carton lists 9 things that it does.  I don't find it overly moisturizing- I use a moisturizer underneath.  But it is great to balance and conceal.  Helps throughout the day with shine.  I don't wear base since I find it to thick/heavy.  This is not heavy at all and a little goes a long way.  I have been wearing this product and pressed powder.  It does not cake at all.  Now I want to try this product out in 90 degree heat in the south and see how it helps with THAT shine!!!!  I am considering buying a full size product of this!

Now to my favorite product of the box!!!! I am IN LOVE with the Vasanti Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator!!!  Since the directions said to use on a wet face, I stuck it in my shower.  I really didn't think I was going to be impressed with this one.  I WAS WRONG!!!!  I love a good facial scrub- this has a great texture.  It does have some exfoliating properties but it is not harsh at all!!  I love that it is a little gritty to scrub but is soft on the skin as well.  That is really the best way I can describe it.  My skin feels great after I have used it!   I have used this everyday since I got it!!!!  A++++ in my book!!!!

Overall, the first month's box was a hit for me!  Can't wait to see what next month brings!!!

Vegas baby!!!

We arrived in Vegas last night. Long day if plane travel. Our first plane was SMALL!!! Like three seats across!!! Two on one side and one on the other!!! That is small! Especially for a three hour flight!!! I thought puddle jumpers were only for short flights? The second flight was much better. We even lucked out with no one else in a our row!! We put the arm rests up and stretched out! We put in iPad up on a tray between us and watched The Walking Dead episodes. Jenny had never watched- I think she is addicted now!
Our goal was to go to bed early and get caught up on sleep and try to get on Vegas time. Well, we were both up at 5:30 am so I am thinking our plan didn't work! Today is our shopping day!!! Guess we need to get going!
Have a great day!!!

All Packed up

I leave tomorrow for Vegas for a week.  Very excited for a girls weekend.   We  are going to do TONS of shopping and we are also going to the Supernatural Convention.  This will be the second Supernatural Convention that I have gone to.  Last year's was in Nashville.  Can't wait for Vegas. Anyone one here Supernatural fans??!!!!

Unfortunately, we have to fly to Vegas.  I am not the best flyer.  Now, I am not crazy "Bridemaids" girl flyer but still.......(hope Stove isn't on the plane!!!) .

I am set though, I have downloaded my ipad with The Walking Dead episodes.  Since my girlfriend has not seen them, we will be watching them on the plane.  I am looking forward to rewatching the episodes.  Who else is a Walking Dead fan???

My bag is packed for the most part, hope I haven't forgotten anything.  Packing in ONE bag is a chore for me.  I am the type that likes to bring EVERYTHING with me.....just in case.  Another reason I don't like to fly!!!  I did limit it down to only three pairs of shoes.  And that for me was a BIG improvement....plus, with us shopping, I might buy another pair there!!!!  LOL!!!
I will be blogging some but I am limited to my iphone.  Have a great week!!

Butterfly layout

Crazy week here!!!  I am here!!!  :)  Trying to get tons of work done before my big trip next week.  I also drove on a field trip this week with my older son's class.  They went to Loaves and Fishes to sort food for community service.  The kids did great!! They sorted almost 2 tons of food!!! Last night, was scouts for Owen.  He showed great leadership at the meeting last night and has earned a "special" recognition of that!!!  Way to go Owen!!!  Today is grandparents day at my kids school so the boys are excited that Grammie is coming for a visit!!!  This weekend is Owen and Jesse's first soccer practice of the season.  They are both excited to be back on the soccer field.  I am excited to be asst. coaching again this season with my brother-in-law, David (for Jesse's team).  I love working with the kids!  Spring time is such a busy time!!!  (Is it officially spring???  It is coming soon!!!)
I am also in the process of cleaning out my craft stuff.  I am going through my stamps.  Time to purge some stuff that hasn't seen ink in a long time!!!  Hopefully, someone else can give these stamps some love!!!  I am also redoing my stamp binders.  I will do a post about them when I am done.
Now on to my layout.  I did this layout a couple weeks ago.  I really wanted to play with the Swallowtail Stampin' Up stamp in the new Spring catalog.  I love this stamp.  I love that it is a big stamp but offered in clear mount which I think is a first!!!!  I love clear mounts!  This is a great stamp!  I fell in love with the stamp from the sample in the catalog.

The image is embossed with Pool Party embossing powder.  Then I used the champagne shimmer paint and my aqua painter to create the shimmer.  Very pretty!  This picture captures some of the shimmer.  I also used the new mini butterfly punch out of the Spring catalog.  I wanted LOTS of butterflies on this layout.

This picture was from my high school graduation.  Yes, big hair!!! :)  The title was stamped on the newsprint DSP.  I distressed the edges.

This was a fun layout.  I loved using the butterflies to symbolize taking flight to the next level in my life.
Hope you have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend!!!  I will be packing for VEGAS baby!!!!!  :)
Michelle!!!
